Education & Training
- Adult Basic Education (ABE)
Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes offer individualized and self-paced instruction for adults who wish to improve reading, English and math skills.
A GED shows that you have knowledge and skills that are comparable to those of people who have graduated from high school.
- English as a Second Language (ESL)
English as a Second Language (ESL) classes help adults learn to speak, read and write in English.
- English Literacy and Civics Education
Classes introduce information about American social and cultural life. Immigrants learn about valuable community resources.
- Rapid City Academy Career Learning Center
The Rapid City Academy at the Career Learning Center is designed for students who are at risk of not graduating and have earned eleven (11) or more credits.
- The Learning Zone (TLZ)
This program supports the creation of community learning centers that provide academic enrichment opportunities for students at are enrolled in the Rapid City Academies.
Occupational Training
This course is designed to prepare individuals for an entry level bookkeeping position.
- Office and Administrative Support (OAS)
This program is specifically designed to aid students to progress to a mastery skill level in software applications training in business and industry today.

The Medical Terminology course provides instruction of medical terms using a workbook format, comprehensive glossaries, and appendices for reference in class and on the job.
This course is designed to prepare students to accurately process health insurance claims, implement patient billing and operate within the medical office setting.
This course is designed to prepare students to successfully code procedures in the medical field.
This is an advanced course designed to prepare students to successfully complete the AAPC national medical coding certification exam.
- Professional Resume Development
The staff at the Career Learning Center work together with you to develop a professional resume that represents you in the most positive manner possible.

Community Education of the Black Hills covers a huge region with classes in every community in the Black Hills including Belle Fourche, Custer, Deadwood, Edgemont, Hill City, Hot Springs, Lead, Rapid City, Spearfish, and Sturgis!

Black Hills Birth to Three Connections is the first point of contact for children with special needs ages 0-3 years old. Free developmental screenings are followed by service coordination to address identified needs. No cost to family.
