Accounting Clerk

Overview:   This course is designed to prepare individuals for an entry level

bookkeeping position

Class Schedule:      Meets every Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM for

16 weeks, 480 hours of classroom time.

Course Pre-requisites:

 

GOAL: (reach a minimum of 25 wpm on a typing test and minimum of 80% on computer tests)

Teaching Methods:

Student Evaluation:         The course is graded on worksheets, quizzes and tests

80% or higher is required to continue.

The Career Learning Center has prepared a definitive program of study that is aimed at providing information and training relating to an accounting clerk in business and industry.

The course curriculum is presented in a chapter format. The chapters include basic record keeping, budget records, credit records; cash receipts, checking account, petty cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial statements, payroll and calculator applications for business. Computer programs are Word, Excel, Access and QuickBooks Pro.
